STEPHANIE WATTS

I graduated from Physiotherapy school in Birmingham, England and have had an interesting and varied career over the last 20+ years.I have  worked in private hospitals, a Tri service military rehabilitation center, and sports teams, as well as specialized Out Patient clinics,I I am therefore familiar with returning clients to a high level of function.

Throughout my career I have enjoyed advancing my therapeutic skills with multiple post graduate courses, and like to keep up to date with the advances in medical treatments. I recently certified in the Level 1 Rigo Concept Therapy from The Elena Salva Institute for Rehabilitation of Spinal Deformities, Barcelona, Spain. It is for the treatment of Scoliosis, Hyperkyphosis and other spinal deformities.

My manual therapy skills were achieved with certifications in:

  •  Maitland-Australian Approach

  •  McKenzie Approach

  •  Mulligan Approach

Rigo Concept Therapy

These certifications focus on the treatment of the spine and peripheral joints, with the goal of decreasing pain, improving both the quality and range of joint movement and soft tissue extensibility.

I am also a certified Polestar Pilates Rehabilitation Practitioner. I love the role Pilates can play in the rehabilitation of all musculoskeletal problems, and it has become an important tool in the rehabilitation of my clients.

I am a big believer in helping the client  to manage their own symptoms and maintain their recovery post treatment. The treatment received within the therapy session is augmented with a  home exercise program to address each client's individual needs. This can be as simple as a correction of posture, or a comprehensive set of exercises and stretches to continue the work of improving mobility and strength between sessions.

My hobbies include travel, Pilates, tennis, and more recently Pickleball. I am married with 3 children and also enjoy reading, hiking, and spending time with my family.
